A new number one cometh and it may be here to stay. Major Lazer, Diplo and now DJ Snake, are back and their infectious dance tunes may just dominate the summer. The first single "Lean On" reaches number 1 after 6 weeks in the countdown.
New songs from Metric and Courtney Barnett break into the Top 10 and Disclosure, Tallest Man on Earth, Neon Indian and the Weeknd all blast into the Top 30.

Weekly Top 30 July 5th
Our first top 30 for the second half of the year! We should have about 250 great songs already with 250 more to come in the next 6 months.
The first Top 30 of 2015, part 2 sees Hundred Waters' singer Nicole Miglis in the number 1 spot, finally! We knew it would happan and faster than most (in just 4 weeks!) and it finally did, knocking the mighty Courtney Barnett off the top! But she may not be there long as an awesome song by Diplo project Major Lazer has taken off and looks to be the groups first number 1 song! "Lean On" is a chill riding song with the special guest and Sonick Radio veteran, MO from Denmark.

Weekly Top 30 June 28th
Getting behind again on posting but not on making the charts. They are still going on as scheduled so hopefully we will catch up soon.
The last full week of June sees Courtney Barnett with her second week at #1 with "Depreston" the lazy ballad of moving to the suburbs and perhaps slowly dying! Coming close is the Hundred Waters' Nicole Miglis' acoustic piano version of "Show Me Love" and LA punk group FIDLAR enters the top 10 with "40oz. on Repeat"
Speaking of Courtney Barnett, she enters the Top 30 this week with a third single from her proper debut album, with "Dead Fox", another funny yet political and thought provoking song this time exploring the environment and capitalism.

Weekly Top 30 June 21st
We have a new #1 and it is Courtney Barnett's second #1 song of this year! "Depreston" is a much different song than "Pedestrian at Best" but it is just as great.
Coming in at number 4 is the Hundred Waters / Nicole Miglis solo version of "Show Me Love" which will be #1 at some point there is little doubt!
Jamie XX and Tame Impala both hit the Top 10 and LA punk band FIDLAR screams into the Top 30 with their slacker song 40oz on Repeat. Also new is a re-entry from NYC instrumental band Ratatat.

Weekly Top 30 June 14th
Midway through the 6th month of the year and it seems we have another contender for song of the year! The Chemical Brothers first album in 5 years is out this summer and lead single "Sometimes I Feel So Deserted" is showing up strong!
There are many great songs in the Top 10 right now, proving that summer is really when the big songs hit. Most notably is the #10 song which is a DEBUT! Not many songs debut in the Top 50 let alone the Top 10! This song is quite amazing though. Hundred Waters took the countdown by storm last year with 2 Number 1 songs, both making the Top 25 of the year. This time it's just vocalist Nicole on the piano remixing the opening track from their 2014 debut album.
The song starts with just some random piano notes and grows a bit more frollicking before dying out completely to reveal Nicole singing the verses of the song. As she enters the end of the lyrics, which are not many, the piano solo turns into a true thing of beauty. The song is probably the most beautiful thing I have heard in a long time and almost debuted at #1!

Weekly Top 30 June 7th
As we enter June we have the Chemical Brothers locked into the top spot for the 2nd straight week despite the best efforts of Courtney Barnett, Heems and Best Coast trying to knock them off.
Jamie XX ascends into the Top 10 with his sorta solo song "Loud Places". I say it's only sorta solo because despite it being on his solo record, the song features "guest vocals" by his bandmate Romy. So the song is essentially the XX. It's good.
No huge moves this week but we do have new songs from Baltimore's Future Islands, another Chemical Brothers track, this time featuring Q-Tip on vocals, and a new artist, Hop Along.
Hop Along is a indie folk outfit out of Philadelphia and singer Francis Quinlan is a woman with quite a voice. They are signed to Saddle Creek records and I am thinking we may be hearing a few more songs from them in 2015.
Next week we have a HUGE debut, hint hint.

Weekly Top 30 May 31st
We have reached the end of month 5 of the year and I think we've assembled a decent amount of quality songs so far, and summer songs are upon us!
This week also marks the triumphant return to #1 for the masters and somewhat pioneers of big beat electronic music, The Chemical Brothers. It's been years since they have come out with a song this powerful. "Sometimes I Feel So Deserted" is almost every bit of a Chemical Brothers song you could ask for. Booming sound, buildups, drops and hooks. This may be here a while!
Of course, Australia's Courtney Barnett's new folky "Depreston" may have something to say about that. The lazy song about growing old and moving out of the city is a gem and both the guitar riff and message in the song are something that sticks with you long after listening. It definitely sticks in my head!
Best Coast and TORRES also both slip into the Top 10 and new songs from Mew and Unknown Mortal Orchestra make their debut in the Top 30.
